• Give a brief introduction about yourself?

 I am a full-time faculty with L S Raheja College and Head the Department of Business Management. (Teaching Experience – 25 years). Traveling is my passion.

 

  • How did you enter this profession of teaching and training?

 I started my career with Lintas India as Media Executive but decided to shift to teaching as a compromise for family. But have no regrets for the same and love my work immensely.

 

  • How has been your career graph over the years and change in role at different levels?

To be frank I just wanted to work and career was last thing on my mind after I left Lintas and even did not accept the offer of Vice Principal also. I decided to take up visiting faculty lectures at UPG and NMIMS as my family responsibilities at home front reduced.

 

  • Tell us something about BMM?

BMM is a good course because till then we never had anything like this for students who were interested in Advertising or journalism. It is good for these industries also to get trained people.

 

  • What are your future plans in the field of teaching?

Just continue the same way as it suits me.

 

  • There has been a lot of news about BMM being introduced in Marathi? What do you feel about the same?

I think student should be given a choice and it should not be imposed on them.

 

  • How has the mindset of the students changed over the years in respect of their career and their values of discipline and culture?

Present day students are far more aware and career conscious. Most of them are very clear about what they want. Your generation is far more honest and upright.

 

  • And as a person what is your mission, long-term objective or goal?

 “Do what you enjoy so that you can give best.”

 

  • What are the prospects or avenues opened to a student after BMM?

Career in Advertising and Media and both will witness very good growth and outsourcing also.

 

  • Does the college selection make a difference in shaping up the career of a student in BMM or the Media field?

 To some extent, YES but the students who have it in THEM, will anyways make it BIG

 

  • Any advice that you would like to give to BMM aspirants?
