Well i would just like to start off with a small quote :

“ART IS NOT WHAT YOU SEE BUT WHAT YOU MAKE OTHERS SEE” and thats precisely describes an ART DIRECTOR!!

An art director needs to have a vision and also that creativity to make others see what they cant!!

In the field of ADVERTISING, thaaert director is normally the head of the department but not necessarily thaat all of them lead!! The ART director needs to work in accordance with the COPYWRITER! The Art Director is normally responsible for the VISUAL treat whereas the COPYWRITER is responsible for the Textual TREAT!! The ART director is more involved with the PRODUCTION of the AD Campaign …The ART DIRECTOR is different from a GRAPHIC DESIGNER. The AD may have a team of Graphic Designers working under him but then, an AD is just incomplete without his team!! The major responsibility is to create some stylised aspect to the  AD that resonates well with the Viewers of the Advertisement!! As part of this team an art director will work on a brief set by the client and will be involved at every stage of the production process. The role of an advertising art director will vary according to the agency they are employed by and the client brief.  Typical work activities may include:
