First merit list in some of the city’s most popular degree colleges remain pretty much the same as the last year. The difference however is that most are admitting 4-5 times their capacity inregulaar courses especially in BSc, aware of the fact that majority of students opt out once they get a mediacl or engineering seat

Cutoffs have dipped marginally for the arts stream too, as many students leave once they make it to the Bachelors in Mass Media( BMM). In some colleges, those who have applied in the arts stream have already got it. Several students block the ARTS seat but later on quit when they get into BMM…..

Colleges like SIES Sion , have admitted 5 times its normal capacity, Jai Hind 3 times it’s normal capacity.

The cut offs for courses like BMM, BBI, BAF remained high, also crossing 90% in some instances…

The cutoffs for the normal degree courses remained low, as they are applicable only to outside students  applying to a college. All in-house students who apply to the college get a seat….
